NEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour heads to Göteborg for final event of the year

The city of Göteborg is getting ready to host the fifth and final NEVZA Beach Volleyball tournament of the year as the so-called NEVZA Beach Sweden will take place from November 4 to 6 in the world’s largest indoor Beach Volleyball arena.

With last week’s exciting competition in Bournemouth, England, still fresh in our memory it is time to close the 2016 NEVZA Beach Volleyball season as the tour moves on from one indoor arena to another.

Göteborg Beachvolley Club and the Swedish Volleyball Federation are happy and honoured to host this final NEVZA event of the year. Some of Northern Europe’s most talented and competitive teams are travelling to Göteborg to fight for the top honours at the Beach Centre, the world’s largest indoor Beach Volleyball arena.

The event will feature men’s and women’s teams from Denmark, England, Finland, Norway and Sweden. As many as nine Swedish teams will participate, many of them playing on home soil. Nina Grawender and Anne-Lie Rininsland, who team up for the very first time, are two of them: “Playing an international competition at home in Göteborg is for sure something special. And to do it with Anne-Lie... just wow! She is obviously one of those players that I have always wanted to play with – so that’s kind of a check off for me,” Grawender said.

Both Nina and Anne-Lie previously played with Karin Lundqvist, the former top-ranked Swedish player on the FIVB World Tour who decided to retire from competitive sport at the end of this past summer. “We can go a long way if we play up to our potential and as stable as we know we are capable of. Our main goal though is to have a good time playing in front of friends and teammates. We are excited to get going and are really looking forward to the coming weekend,” Grawender concluded.
